Substance Use 101
ABOUT THE CURRICULUM
By the 12th grade, youth will have tried alcohol, marijuana, nicotine, and other illicit drugs. Sometimes, unknowingly of the long term effects early drug use will have on their life.

This curriculum is designed to educate youth 13-24 on the immediate and long term effects of using drugs. Each education group is 30 minutes and spotlights some of the most commonly used drugs among youth.

Youth will learn the chemistry of the substance and the direct and indirect risks of drug use. Although the curriculum encourages abstaining from drugs, a harm reduction approach is taken.
